Fees and funding

Our fees are £5.50 per hour per child.

We are registered to accept East Sussex Early Years Development and Childcare funding and offer places for both 15 hours and 30 hours funded children. We are also registered for the Tax Free Childcare scheme.

At present, all three year olds and four year olds in England are entitled to free early education or childcare with an approved provider. Some 2-year-olds are also eligible. Free early education and childcare stop when your child starts reception class (or reaches compulsory school age, if later).

All children in England get 570 free hours per year (equivalent to 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year), from the term after the child’s third birthday.

Some families are eligible for up to 30 hours free childcare (1,140 hours per year, which you can choose how you take). Families that are eligible can sign up online to get a code to give to their childcare provider to reserve their place from the following term. You can usually get 30 hours free childcare if you (and your partner, if you have one) are in work (or getting parental leave, sick leave or annual leave) and each earning at least the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage for 16 hours a week although some restrictions apply. Please click here for further information from Gov.UK.

The Pre-School is a registered charity and all money collected in fees is spent on day-to-day running of the nursery or invested in new play equipment and staff training. You can read more about our charitable status on our Management Committee page.
